Evaluating the financial performance of Akbank in the first nine months of 2026, CEO Kaan Gür stated, “In the third quarter, energy prices rose again amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty, continuing to affect the global economy and financial markets, while central banks in advanced economies adopted a tighter monetary stance in response to increasing inflationary pressures. Against this backdrop of tightening global financial conditions, the progress made in the domestic disinflation process and strengthening macroeconomic balance paved the way for gradual steps towards normalisation by Turkish economic authorities. At Akbank, we continued to stand firmly behind the Turkish economy and our customers throughout this period of heightened global uncertainty.”
“We provided loans of TL 3 trillion 35 billion to the economy in the first nine months of 2026”
Gür continued, “In the first nine months of 2026, the loan support we provided to the economy increased to a total of TL 3 trillion 35 billion with TL 2 trillion 334 billion in cash loans. Our deposits reached TL 2 trillion 641 billion, while our assets reached TL 4 trillion 198 billion. With our strong capital adequacy ratio of 16.7%, we continued to support the growth and development of the real sector. In the first nine months of the year, Akbank reported a consolidated net profit of TL 45 billion 933 million after TL 16 billion 897 million tax expenses. I would like to thank our colleagues for their successful performance and all our stakeholders, especially our customers, for the trust they place in us.”
